User photo not available Friday, 11 September 09 - 10:14 PM (GMT)
By Jen Scott in General

Hi Everyone!!

It is that time of year again! We will be selling popcorn again at Wal-mart on Market Street from 9:00am to 5:00pm.  We need each scout to work a 4 hour shift.  We need 6 scouts in the morning and 6 scouts in the afternoon.  I will have a signup sheet for everyone.

I will be handing out the door to door order forms also next week.  You can begin selling on September 19th.  You can either collect the money up front or when you deliver it.

All orders are due back to me by October 19th

Every Scout that sells $500.00 in product will be invited to

a movie and pizza party!

If the pack raises $7,000 the leaders will get a pie in the face

The top seller will get to be the one throwing the pie!!

***New this year****

The scouts will get 30% of the profit from popcorn sales into an account for them.  I will be going into more detail at the next meeting about this.  This will help them with the cost of trips for the year.

Also new this year, we are going to be selling Poinsettia’s at the same time we sell popcorn.  Each scout will receive 100% of the profit into their account.

If you have any questions please let me know!

Thank you!!

Becky Longstreth

Summer Camp Information

Our troop participates in a weeklong summer camp at Canyon Camp in the Blackhawk Area Council.   Younger Scouts can be involved in the Canyon Ranger program on their first trip to camp, and another program is specifically geared for Scouts seeking their First Class rank!  Older scouts also have higher adventure opportunities, Order of the Arrow and lots of merit badge activities, as well!

All scouts and leaders need a physical form that came with your camp packets or is available here:

2008 BSA Medical Form

Camp leaders' guide is available to read here:

 Cookoree around the Corner!

It won't be long before the boys are packing up their gear and heading off to compete with the other troops and patrols in the area!  Cooking on a campout is a given, but cooking with style is one of the aims here...along with ingenuity, a sense of coordination, knowledge and innovation!  Our scouts have all of that and more!

Go Troop 31!!!

Meet at 7 am at the VFW hall on Saturday, May 2nd to present yourself in uniform with your gear!  You'll return back home before lunch on Sunday with stories to regale your family and friends with!

Don't forget weather-appropriate clothing, your own metal silverware, Scout Handbook, a sleeping bag, a positive outlook and the permission slip!  Need more gear?  How about a personal tent, canteen and camera?  This is 2009's kickoff campout!  Contact Eugene for more info or with questions:  473-3346
